"Hasthampatti" is a place which has a unique distinction. Mahathma Gandhiji stayed in this building on 14.Feb.1934 as a guest of the land lord. The room in which he stayed has been set apart as a memorial for Gandhiji in the form of a Philatelic Museum where commemorative stamps, stationaries, first day covers issued by our country and foreign countries on Gandhiji are exhibited, in addition to the items used by Gandhiji during his stay. The Pictorial Cancellation shows the "Chakra Symbol".
